Fees
The participating artist may enter a total of 3 pieces into the show. A $15 entry fee must accompany each submitted piece. As the available exhibit space at the Sandy Senior Center is limited to approximately 300 art works, payment of entry fee does not guarantee the exhibit space.
Payment in cash or check is to be made to the Sandy Arts Guild.
High school seniors, their art teachers, and volunteer workers at the show may enter one (1) piece without fee.
All art pieces must be delivered to the Center on November 5, 2010 between the hours of 8:30 AM and 7:00 PM.
All art, including pieces sold, must remain on exhibit through November 13, and be picked up between the hours of noon and 4 PM on November 13, 2010.
Legal and Copyright
Show entrants must sign an agreement with Sandy City and comply with the show rules.
Submitted items must be original works to which the artist is entitled copyright protection.
Items placed into exhibit may not violate any local, state, or federal laws, including those governing pornography, libel, privacy, and/or publicity.
If art is sold, the buyer must contract directly with the exhibitor. Payment of sales tax is the personal responsibility of the exhibitor. The City will not retain any sales commission.
Jury and Awards
A panel of three judges will jury the works submitted for competition. Each juror will be selected for his/her broad range of competency and knowledge of art being done in today’s world of art.
Pieces of art that are submitted to be juried must not display the identity of the artist. Signatures and other artist identifying markers must be covered so as to be invisible to the judges.
Ribbons and certificates will be awarded on the judges’ evaluation of the item’s impact, originality, and the application of the principles of design.
A participating artist may receive only one award in the entered category.
Award winners (Best of Show through Honorable Mention) will have priority in the exhibit space.
